Nossaman has been tracking all of the changes and activity as the Trump administration’s new leadership begins providing direction to agency staff.

As part of this effort, Brooke Marcus was quoted in the Bloomberg Law article "Trump Halts Permitting for Renewables Projects on Private Land." The article discussed the impact of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers temporarily pausing permitting for 168 U.S. renewable energy projects in order to comply with President Donald Trump’s fossil fuels mandate, which is part of the administration’s “Unleashing American Energy” executive order.

Offering comment, Brooke said at the time her “understanding is that at least some Corps districts are suspending processing of wind energy permits and even being cautious regarding projects/staff that have IRA funding in anticipation of further guidance.”

Agency directives are changing by the day – shortly after Brooke commented for this article, the Corps changed course on certain renewables permitting. Nossaman continues to track the Corps and other federal agencies’ changes to permitting across sectors.
