Fred Fudacz and Byron Gee Recognized as “Top Trial Attorneys” in Los Angeles County
Fred Fudacz and Byron Gee were recognized as “Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys” for 2026 by the Los Angeles Business Journal (LABJ). The annual supplement recognizes a special kind “of attorney that needs to transcend expert comprehension of the legal system – the litigator.” Those recognized are “lawyers who go to the proverbial mat to fight for their clients before judges and jury and have their own unique sets of skills.”
Fred was highlighted by the LABJ for being “one of the foremost water lawyers in California. His work includes representing water users in complex litigation involving the adjudication of water rights, representing water purveyors with contaminated groundwater supplies and providing a wide range of legal advice to court appointed watermasters.” The article also said Fred has significant experience coupled with best-in-class “trial and negotiating skills and has secured more than $700 million worth of contamination settlements in two of the largest groundwater perchlorate pollution cases in the State. Additionally, he has represented significant clients in landmark water rights adjudications.”
Byron was praised by the publication for representing “clients in trial courts and administrative hearings on all areas of water rights and environmental law and focusing on the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act, the Hazardous Substance Account Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Clean Water Act and the California Porter Cologne Act.” The LABJ further noted he “provides counsel in administrative proceedings and defended claims based on Federal, State and local air quality regulations, as well as water rights disputes.” The article closed by stating, “Before practicing law, Byron was a vice president and general manager at various oil companies.”
