Nossaman Announcement

Nossaman worked with the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority on the opening of its historic expansion of the A Line—now the longest light rail line in the world at 58 miles and 40 stations. On September 19, 2025, the 9.1-mile extension opened, connecting Glendora to Pomona. The $1.5 billion project adds four new stations—Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne and Pomona North—improving transit access for communities across the San Gabriel Valley. It strengthens connectivity between residential neighborhoods, educational institutions, recreational areas and regional parks. It also provides a direct transfer point to Metrolink at Pomona Station, facilitating smoother travel between the Inland Empire and the Foothill Cities corridor. Additionally, the new stations will prove useful during the 2028 Olympics, when cricket is played at the Pomona Fairplex.

“The A Line will connect Angelenos to a wealth of destinations from the foothills to the beaches,” said Metro Board Chair Fernando Dutra. “Now more Eastern San Gabriel Valley residents can take Metro rail to cities like Pasadena, Downtown LA, South LA and Long Beach, boosting mobility in communities that haven’t been served by rail for decades.”

Nossaman served as general counsel, real estate counsel and construction counsel for the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority on this project.

News of the opening received extensive media attention, including coverage by the Los Angeles Times, NBC Los Angeles, Railway News and KTLA.
