Overview

We help clients protect their creativity.

We advise clients on all copyright issues related to an array of products – from software, films and recordings to video games and literary and artistic works.  We also counsel clients regarding copyright applications, licensing, fair use and prosecutes and defends claims of infringement.

Virtually every business has established a website. Protecting that website and avoiding copyright pitfalls is essential to the smooth operation of the site and the business.  We advise clients with respect to the acquisition and protection of domain names.  We also counsel them with regard to e-commerce, cybersquatting, copyright and trademark issues arising in the Internet context.  We also represent clients in connection with issues governed by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

We possess extensive experience with copyright litigation so when disputes arise and negotiations prove fruitless, our attorneys are prepared to resolve copyright issues in state and federal courts.

In an effort to minimize a client's exposure to claims of infringement and to assist in the institution of best practices, we conduct intellectual property audits.  An audit entails a full review a client's intellectual property assets and makes any necessary recommendations to assure (a) that those assets are protected and (b) the client is not at risk of infringing another's intellectual property rights.
