Overview
Matthew Grady is an experienced trial attorney and former federal prosecutor who has tried or supervised 20 complex, high-stakes federal jury trials in districts throughout the United States or within the military. He has led and supervised hundreds of investigations involving different federal investigative agencies, and has argued more than a dozen appellate cases. His litigation experience includes prosecutions involving homicide, violent crime, sexual assault, drug trafficking, obstruction of justice, child exploitation, child sexual abuse material offenses and fraud along with other white-collar offenses.
Matt has drafted more than 100 substantive appellate briefs and contributed to multiple precedential appellate decisions clarifying important areas of military criminal law. He regularly partnered with federal prosecutors and investigative agencies nationwide to develop investigative strategies, identify and preserve witness testimony and build complex criminal cases through trial. As a former Deputy Chief within the Department of Justice, he also advised on litigation matters involving human trafficking prosecutions and supervised prosecutors through all stages of case development and trial preparation.
In addition, Matt is a veteran and retired reserve Judge Advocate with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps.
