Outperforming the Competition in an Office Building Acquisition

We represented a public pension system in its acquisition of a multi-floor office building for use as its new headquarters.

Although there was no visible competition for the site during the initial investigation and letter of intent stage, before we could secure the exclusive right to negotiate, a second bidder appeared with a highly aggressive closing schedule.  We worked with the client to expedite diligence, speed up negotiation of the definitive purchase agreement, and power through the complex pension system approval process.  As a result, we were able to outperform the second bidder and seal the deal.
