On May 24, 2017, Tom Curtis presented "Legal Update: MBC Guidelines, Case Law, & Legislation" at the Riverside County Medical Association's 29th Annual Western States Regional Conference on Physicians' Well-Being in Riverside, CA.

This conference covered the new California physician health wellness program legislation; provided ways to identify medical professionals who are at an increased risk for professional burnout and impairment; suggested processes for creating a meaningful fitness for duty evaluation; and covered treatment options and plans for physicians impaired by professional burnout, mental or physical illness, and substance abuse.
