Planning Commissioners Symposium
On October 14th, Mary Lynn Coffee, John Erskine, Joseph Haney, Ben Rubin, David Miller and Emi Lemberg will participate in the Building Industry Association of Southern California’s (BIASC) Planning Commissioners Symposium taking place in Irvine, California.
John and Joseph will facilitate the panel entitled “Connecting the Dots - Planning and Zoning, Subdivision Maps and Development Agreements.” This panel will help commissioners understand how California land use regulatory framework fits together and how to analyze development applications before the Planning Commission.
Mary Lynn and David will host the panel entitled “Understanding CEQA’s Role in Local Decision-Making.” This discussion will provide commissioners with a practical understanding of CEQA and how it intersects local decision-making.
Ben and Emi will lead the discussion on “The Public’s Business: Brown Act Basics.” This session will equip commissioners with practical tools to avoid common Brown Act mistakes and maintain public confidence in the land use process.
