On September 21, 2023, Patrick Harder led an important discussion about why diverse and underrepresented candidates struggle to attain equity partnership in major law firms or C-Suite positions in major corporations during the Driving Diversity in Law and Leadership Summit in Los Angeles.

The shocking statistics are undeniable – there are more male CEO’s named John than there are women CEOs altogether. Further, according to numerous studies by international organizations such as The World Economic Forum, women will have to wait roughly 257 years to achieve pay parity.

This panel explored:

  • The meritocracy myth and why it can’t be relied on;
  • Why organizations should care about retaining and advancing women and people of color; and
  • Making pay parity a top priority and strategies to achieve that goal.

The Driving Diversity in Law and Leadership Summit is an annual event dedicated to exploring and brainstorming solutions to diversity issues within the legal sector by creating a platform for leaders and stakeholders to exchange ideas, network and learn latest trends and best practices for driving diversity.
