Nossaman Expands Tax Capabilities with Addition of Partner Douglas Schwartz

LOS ANGELES (Dec. 22, 2011) – Nossaman LLP announced today that Douglas W. Schwartz has joined the Firm as a partner in the Corporate Practice Group.  Mr. Schwartz specializes in tax and business transactional matters, and has a comprehensive understanding of the complex local, state, and federal laws and regulations that affect personal and business taxes for a wide variety of industries, including entertainment, sports, nonprofit, and public agencies.  He is based in Nossaman's Los Angeles office.

Mr. Schwartz routinely advises clients on tax-related matters concerning employees and compensation, partnership and limited liability company agreements, mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy, wealth management and estate planning, business formations, and non-profit organizations (including lobbying, fundraising, and unrelated business taxable income).  He has extensive experience assisting clients on personal planning issues, including developing employment agreements, partner/shareholder buyout agreements, and tax planning issues in connection with moving in and out of the United States and California.

Mr. Schwartz comes to Nossaman from Kopple and Klinger LLP in Los Angeles, where he worked since 1994.  He has a J.D. degree from Stanford Law School and earned his A.B. degree from Princeton University, summa cum laude.
