Nossaman Partner Mary Antoine was quoted in the Sacramento Business Journal article, "There Are Bumps, But California is Progressing With Health Reform, Panelists Say," regarding Proposition 45 at the Sacramento Business Journal health care forum last month.

According to the article, Proposition 45 would give California Department of Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones authority he does not currently have to regulate health-plan rates across California.

Ms. Antoine stated her concern about fallout if Proposition 45 passes in November.
"It would throw a hand grenade on all efforts by Covered California to negotiate cost-effective rates ... and would slow everything down," Ms. Antoine said.

Other healthcare industry professionals weighed in on their individual concerns regarding Proposition 45 as well.
