Nossaman Projects Receive Recognition at Partnerships Awards
Nossaman would like to congratulate the Commonwealth of Virginia's Office of Transportation Public-Private Partnerships for being named Best Central/Regional Government PPP Promoter at the Partnerships Awards hosted by Partnerships Bulletin and PPP Bulletin International on May 23, 2013.
The Office was recognized for its work on some of the largest infrastructure projects currently taking place in the US, including the 95 Express Lanes project and the Midtown Tunnel. Congratulations also to Dusty Holcombe, Deputy Director of the Virginia Office of Transportation P3, for his recognition for Best Individual Contribution at the Partnerships Awards.
Also receiving recognition, Presidio Parkway was "Highly Commended" for Best Transport Project by Partnerships Bulletin and PPP Bulletin International, essentially making it one of top three transport projects in world. This $1.1 billion project was the first to be delivered under California's P3 law, and only the third anywhere in the United States to be developed through an availability payment structure.
Nossaman itself was also "Highly Commended" for Best Legal Adviser, a category that included 11 other law firms from around the world. The Firm was recognized for its work on some of the biggest deals currently underway in the country, including Presidio Parkway and Midtown Tunnel, "thereby putting itself at the forefront of the emerging American PPP market." Judges commended the Firm's efforts to "deliver projects in what remains an early-stage market, with an enviable track record." They also praised Nossaman's "advocacy of PPPs in the country, through its work such as testifying before Congress and numerous state legislators."
The Partnerships Awards recognize people and projects from around the world for innovation, inspiration and collaboration. Entries are first reviewed by an 80-plus expert panel before going on to the 20 head judges.
We would like to congratulate all of the agencies and their private partners involved in these projects for this highly-deserved recognition.
