“We welcome Mark to our practice,” added Raja Sékaran, co-chair of the Healthcare Group. “His arrival enhances the group’s position as a trusted advisor to industry stakeholders, especially those with medical staffs or offering a professional network.”

Nossaman's Healthcare Group concentrates its efforts in the transactional, regulatory, operational, legislative and litigation arenas and has been perennially ranked by Chambers & Partners as one of the leading healthcare groups in the U.S. The Firm’s preeminence in healthcare law began with the landmark efforts of the Firm's senior healthcare lawyers, including former partner and former California State Assemblyman John T. Knox, co-author of the Knox-Keene Health Care Service Plan Act of 1975 and the Moscone-Knox Professional Corporation Act.

In May of 2023, the group added John Puente, Former Deputy Director and Chief Counsel at the California Department of Health Care Services, and noted healthcare attorney Heather Claus to its Sacramento office.

Commenting on his move to Nossaman, Mark said, “I am excited to help the Firm grow its healthcare practice. I look forward to working with the best-in-class attorneys in the group and across the Firm to help clients successfully overcome their healthcare challenges and seize opportunities.”

Mark holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and an A.B. from John Carroll University. He has been consistently recognized by Martindale Hubbell and Best Lawyers for his work, as well as receiving recognition from Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. He served on the board of the American Academy of Healthcare Attorneys and as chair and vice chair of its Medical Staff and Physician Relations Committee. For the American Health Lawyers Association, Mark served as both a member of the board and the Executive Committee and chair of the Fellows Coordinating Committee. He also is a member of the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys.
