Richard Harris Appointed to Yolo County Redistricting Advisory Committee

Nossaman Senior Policy Advisor Richard Harris was appointed by the Yolo County Board of Supervisors as one of five members of the Yolo County Redistricting Advisory Committee (RAC). The RAC has been charged with providing new supervisor district maps to the Yolo County Board of Supervisors based on the 2010 census. The RAC has held several meetings in cities throughout the county and the Davis Enterprise has been closely following some of the more contentious issues of the meetings.
The advisory committee maps will be provided to the supervisors no later than Aug. 1, 2011. The supervisors may adopt one of the recommended maps or choose to change the maps and draft one of their own creation. The final map will be used in the June 2012 primary elections for seats on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors.
Mr. Harris was appointed to the committee by Supervisor Jim Provenza of Davis.
