Nossaman’s Water Law Practice Group worked to secure an estimated $100 million settlement for our clients, Castaic Lake Water Agency, Newhall County Water District, Santa Clarita Water Company and Valencia Water Company, the subject of this article. The settlement will fund cleanup of a perchlorate contaminated water source in Santa Clarita, the currently unused Saugus formation.

Fred Fudacz, who lead the litigation team in the case against current and past owners of an industrial site formerly used in the production of munitions, was quoted in the article. Mr. Fudacz said of the settlement agreement, "this ensures funding for a very important cleanup project in the Santa Clarita Valley." In reference to the team involved in the settlement on both sides he added, "it's very nice that we have a cooperative approach."
