Overview
Peggy Bennett’s practice focuses on criminal defense, white collar criminal defense, administrative enforcement matters, campus disciplinary actions, Title IX matters and SORNA registration. Peggy has represented clients under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Consumer Financial protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
During her career, Peggy has worked for both the prosecution and the defense, providing a unique perspective in analyzing a case. Peggy began her career as a Public Defender at the Legal Aid Society in New York City and returned to her hometown when she was appointed as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. Peggy’s litigation experience includes handling cases in local and federal court, as well as the London Court of International Arbitration.
Peggy maintains an active and diverse pro bono practice and is an active member of her community.
