Rebecca Hays Barho was featured in the Bloomberg Law article “End of White House Permitting Rules Leaves Developers Lukewarm” (subscription required).

The article addresses how permitting professionals from both sides of the aisle have not seen a significant increase in development or proposals for new projects as a result of executive orders and other actions taken by the White House aimed at reducing roadblocks to permitting, such as the Council on Environmental Quality’s recent rescission of longstanding regulations implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and directives to federal agencies to streamline the NEPA process. While the changes are intended to expedite energy projects and spur a domestic manufacturing renaissance, professionals interviewed in the article agreed it does not appear that companies are moving to take advantage of this new landscape.

Commenting for the article, Rebecca said at the moment, “the changes don’t seem to be having an effect on the timing of new projects.”
