Overview

April Beeman has more than 25 years of experience with non-profits, association boards and political management. April is a former chief of staff for a Congressional office, where she gained exposure to a wide range of policy issues including agricultural and environmental permitting issues, transportation and rural infrastructure. As founding program director of a bipartisan non-profit in DC, April worked with national stakeholders and Congressional offices on a wide variety of legislative issues, while also helping members secure new opportunities and supporting organizational growth by managing small and large-scale events and conferences. She also was the executive director of a DC non-profit focused on Congressional engagement and managed all aspects of the organization, including board relations, events and fundraising.

Throughout her career managing member and stakeholder organizations, April has held several leadership roles including leading a state-wide non-profit and the external affairs division of a national non-profit. She managed fundraising efforts to develop new events, grow budgets, and attract new donors and stakeholders. She worked with a grant writer to secure a $1 million national campaign from the Ad Council. She has also organized and led national events with celebrities and 5ks and 10ks to benefit local charities. April began her career in communications working in radio news and as a campaign press secretary.
