Diana McMillin is a paralegal in the Eminent Domain & Inverse Condemnation and the Environment & Land Use Groups. She has an extensive background in litigation including management of multi-party cases in eminent domain litigation, as well as environmental matters, and is well-versed in all aspects of trial preparation activities.

Prior to working at Nossaman, she worked as an in-house paralegal for two major developers, supporting the corporate department while performing transactional support and contract review during the construction of a five-star resort located in Newport Coast, California. She is a member of the Orange County Paralegal Association.

Arizona Department of Transportation. Collected client agency documents and review electronically stored materials in Relativity for the purposes of administrative litigation, involving land use, CEQA issues, NEPA issues, governmental organizations, and transportation construction regarding the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway Transportation Corridor, Phoenix, Arizona.

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority v. G&R Properties, LLC. Preparation of client documents for use during trial, including identifying and marking documents for use during expert witness rebuttal testimony involving an eminent domain action to acquire real property on Crenshaw Boulevard in the City of Los Angeles in order to build the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project.

San Bernardino County Transportation Authority. Assisted eminent domain attorneys in the representation of the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority regarding the Redlands Passenger Rail project. Responsible for service of Notices of Hearings on Resolution of Necessity. Pleading tasks included drafting complaints, motions. Responsible for services of process and calendaring deadlines.

Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority. Assisted eminent domain attorneys in the representation of the Foothill Gold Line Light Rail Extension Project. Tasks included service of Notices of Hearings on Resolution of Necessity. Responsible for services of process and calendaring deadlines; worked closely with Los Angeles County Superior Court Clerk’s office.

Exposition Metro Line Construction Authority v. 9000 Venice Partners, L.P. Involved in all aspects of trial preparation including organizing and marking client and expert documents as trial exhibits, drafted jury instructions, prepared trial notices and subpoenas regarding the eminent domain action of the taking of portions of the parking lot of a multi-tenant retail/restaurant shopping center to widen Venice Boulevard as part of construction of the Exposition Light Rail Transit Project.

Hills for Everyone v. City of Brea. Index documents identified by City of Brea for inclusion into an Administrative Record regarding the decisions of the City of Brea and the Brea City Council to approve the Madrona Development Project.

Southern California Edison Company. Assisted eminent domain attorneys in the representation of the Edison Company regarding the Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project in Antelope Valley and Los Angeles Basin regarding Segments 1-3 and 4-11. Pleading tasks included drafting complaints, motions. Responsible for services of process and calendaring deadlines; worked closely with client in providing weekly status updates; worked closely with Kern County Superior Court Clerk’s office. Analyzed and identified e-discovery documents for the purposes of litigation. Attended jury trials and assisted trial team with case testimony using TrialDirector.

Southern California Gas Company. Assisted eminent domain attorneys in the representation of the Southern California Gas Company regarding the Line 2001 West Santa Ana River Replacement Project. Responsible for services of process and calendaring deadlines; worked closely with Los Angeles County Superior Court Clerk’s office.

Goleta Water District v. Slippery Rock Ranch. Assisted the trial team in representation of the Goleta Water District regarding appropriation of water rights. Responsibilities included organization of expert documents and maintaining document database by using Relativity. Attended trial and provided courtroom assistance, including daily organization of trial exhibits, expert witness schedules, and daily tasks required by the trial team.

The Irvine Company, LLC. Duties included the review and negotiation of both company standard form contracts and non-company standard form contracts for The Resort at Pelican Hill, The Islander, Pelican Hill Golf Club and Oak Creek Golf Club.
