Ashley Dunning presented “Fiduciary Principles to Guide Public Retirement System Trustees” as part of the CalPERS Board of Administration annual education training in Sacramento, CA, on January 21, 2020.

During this program, Ashley explained what comprises a fiduciary relationship, and she reviewed the duty of care and duty of loyalty requirements placed upon fiduciaries. She also discussed how recent court rulings further define the role of retirement system fiduciaries and described the importance of this guidance for public retirement system trustees.
