MDOT Purple Line Light Rail Project and UC Merced 2020 Project Win "Deal of the Year Awards" From IJGlobal

Nossaman would like to congratulate the University of California Board of Regents and the Maryland Department of Transportation for  winning Americas Deal of the Year honors at the IJGlobal Awards for the Americas. The awards were presented at a ceremony in New York on March 15, 2017. 

The University of California Board of Regents won in the Social Infrastructure category for its UC Merced 2020 Campus Expansion Project A  Nossaman team, led by Infrastructure Chair Patrick Harder, advised the University of California  Board of Regents on the innovative, $1.3 billion project--which reached  commercial and financial close in 2016. As the first university campus expansion in the United States to be undertaken using the P3 availability payment model, the closely watched project is expected to serve as a template for other colleges seeking to expand or rehabilitate their campuses.

The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) won in the Rail category for its Purple Line Light Rail Project, a $2 billion project that will significantly ease travel between  Washington D.C, and its surrounding suburbs. A Nossaman team led Infrastructure Partners Nancy Smith and Simon Santiago advised the Maryland Department of Transportation on the project, which is Maryland’s first transit P3 project.
