Prior to joining Nossaman, Michael served as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where he represented the agency in complex employment litigation before the Merit Systems Protection Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He advised the internal clients on a range of employment law issues, including whistleblower protections and collective bargaining agreements and collaborated with stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance while aligning legal strategy with organizational objectives.

Before his federal service, Michael maintained a broad litigation and regulatory practice at a midsized law firm in Phoenix. He represented clients in matters involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, employment law, data privacy, regulatory compliance, trademark disputes, energy and utility regulation, trusts and estates, insurance, education and election law. Earlier in his career, Michael represented clients in personal injury matters and taught a course at the University of Arizona James E.
